Penil implantlar, sertleşme problemi olan erkeklerin ereksiyon olmalarını sağlamak için penis içine yerleştirilen cihazlardır. Tipik olarak sertleşme probleminde diğer tedaviler başarısız olduktan sonra önerilir. Hasta tüm tedavileri denemiş yine de cinsel aktivite için yeterli ereksiyon yetisini geri kazanamamış ise ise penil implantları düşünebilir.

Kapalı yöntemde karın içerisine yerleştirilen 1 cm çapında özel bir kamera yardımıyla gerçekleştirilir. Vericiden kapalı teknikle böbrek çıkarılırken ameliyat tamamen endoskopik aletlerle tamamlanabileceği gibi, cerrahın bir elini karın içerisine sokarak (yarı endoskopik, el yardımlı teknik) da yapılabilir.

  Hipospadias çocukluk yaşta onarılması gereken doğumsal bir anomalidir. Hipospadias normalde erkeklik organının ucuna açılan idrar deliğinin, organın alt yüzünde, apış arasından penisin ucuna kadar herhangi bir noktaya açılması durumudur. 200 erkek doğumda bir gözükür. Tüp bebek yöntemi ile doğan çocuklarda daha fazladır. Hipospadias ön (anteiror), orta (midpenil) ve arka (proksimal) olmak üzere 3 sınıfta incelenir. Bu hastalar idrarlarını ileriye doğru atamazlar. Daha da önemlisi ise; erkeklik organı aşağıya doğru eğri olduğu için bu çocuklar erişkin olduklarında iyi bir cinsel birleşme yapamazlar.
